FIT DURING PREGNANCY

Pregnancy is a special time – full of changes, expectations and physical adjustments. Exercise is a valuable companion. Exercise and training during pregnancy not only strengthens the body, but also supports well-being and prepares you optimally for birth and the postpartum period.

In physiotherapy, we accompany you individually and safely through this phase. Whether you were active before your pregnancy or just want to start now – together we will find the right level of activity for you and your baby.

If you have pelvic floor problems, please continue reading and book here: Pelvic floor

Our focus in pregnancy support:

  • Individually adapted training

  • Alleviation of typical complaints such as low back pain, water retention or tension through exercises

  • Strengthening general fitness & preparation for birth and postpartum

  • Information on what to look out for during training and when medical advice is necessary or training should be discontinued for the time being

Regular exercise during pregnancy is safe and has many benefits: it can reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, back pain, high blood pressure and excessive weight gain. It can also reduce the likelihood of premature birth, caesarean section or low birth weight. To be able to work with us, get medical (gynecological) clearance and a prescription for physiotherapy.

  • Good to know: For pregnant women with rectus diastasis, targeted training of the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles is safe – it does not worsen the gap between the abdominal muscles. So if you want to prevent discomfort or strengthen your muscles, you can train without worry.

In physiotherapy, we accompany you individually and safely through this exciting phase. Whether you were active before your pregnancy or just want to start now – together we will find the right level of activity for you and your baby – adapted to the medical conditions of your pregnancy.
