“Back in Motion” is a 10-week online workout program for your lower back. You’ll receive three structured workout plans that you can follow on your own at home or at the gym. The program is suitable for people with back pain or for preventive purposes—subject to a doctor’s approval if you have any health limitations.

This program is not a substitute for a medical diagnosis and is not a form of physical therapy. If you’re unsure whether “Back in Motion” is right for you, feel free to schedule a free consultation in advance.

Where can I do the program?

  • You can do the program at home or in a gym.

How long does the program last?

  • – 10 weeks
  • – The program consists of 3 individual workout plans.
  • – The last plan can be continued for as long as you like or integrated into your own plan. This will give you a healthy, resilient back in the long term!

What equipment is required?

  • Gym: free weights (dumbbells and barbells), machines
  • At home: long resistance bands in various strengths

 

Who is the rehab program suitable for?

For people with lower back pain – with medical clearance for workout.

Symptoms can be, for example

  • – Lower back discomfort during prolonged sitting/standing/walking
  • – Discomfort during certain movements or activities
  • – Stiff feeling in the lower back, pain, unstable feeling, restricted movement, insecurity or anxiety during certain movements, avoidance of activities, restrictions in everyday life

For people who want to do something preventative for their back.

  • – Improving mobility and strength in the lower back
  • – Prevent back pain

For pregnant persons with back pain – with medical clearance.

For people with osteoporosis and back pain – after medical clearance.

Who is the rehabilitation program NOT suitable for?

NOT suitable for the following diagnoses/health problems:

  • – People with constant pain at rest that is more than 6 out of 10 on the “pain traffic light” (see document pain traffic light) – WITHOUT medical clearance
  • – People with frequent severe blood pressure imbalances
  • – People with severe cardiac arrhythmia
  • – Heart rate at rest > 120 or < 50, systolic blood pressure at rest> 180/ 200 mmHg or < 60 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure at rest > 110 mmHg
  • – People who have had a serious illness in the last year (heart attack, stroke, myocarditis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism…)
  • – People with exercise-related respiratory and/or circulatory problems (e.g. exercise-induced asthma,…)
  • – Vertebral fractures or serious injuries that have not been clarified
  • – Tumor/metastases
  • Severe neurological symptoms such as
    • — Bladder-bowel dysfunction (uncontrolled loss of urine/stool)
    • — Breeches anesthesia (numbness in the genital and buttock area and inner thigh)
    • — unexplained numbness in the leg and foot area
    • — unexplained conspicuous loss of strength in one or both legs
    • — unexplained gait instability
  • in the case of conspicuous symptoms that have not yet been investigated further:
    • — unintentional severe weight loss
    • — persistent high fever of unknown cause
    • – severe persistent night pain (stronger than during the day)
