MY PHILOSOPHY
“I’m just a construction site“, “I’m too old”, “Will it stay that way?”… These thoughts are justified when you are injured or in pain. In the context of physiotherapy, however, it is allowed and encouraged that you trust in your potential and are full of curiosity despite these thoughts. Someone who chooses activity and healing despite worries and diagnoses.
Congratulations! A great and courageous decision. “My body is already healing, repairing/renewing itself and I’m supporting the process, yay!”
Okay…and how? This is where physiotherapists come into play. I suggest you and I form a team and discuss our common goal.
Where are we now? Where do we want to go?
This is an opportunity to get to know your personal “body language” better: “Is this pain okay?”, “What kind of training works best for me?” Your story and self-awareness are an indispensable contribution to the physiotherapy process. I contribute my specialist knowledge and my accumulated experience.
This makes us an unbeatable team! Even an injury that was very stressful at the beginning can turn into a very enriching experience in retrospect.
There are countless methods in physiotherapy. For example, strength training, mobility exercises or manual therapy. In general, I think it is important that you always know what goal you are pursuing with the exercise and whether the execution of an exercise – i.e. the “fine-tuning” – is right. Only then can we properly assess the effectiveness of the exercise. We test methods until we find the one where improvement is really noticeable and measurable .
Is this not the case? Then let’s rethink our theories and try something else.
MY STORY
Exercise can give us so much quality of life in all areas of life. For me, strength training is a symbol of willpower and determination. For me, stretching also means letting go completely! Staying relaxed even under pressure and taking things as they are. Endurance training places the highest demands on my patience, determination and perseverance. The journey is the goal – step by step. Yes, it can be exhausting – but the main thing is that it pays off!
I love being on the move. I had my first sporting experiences on horseback. I spent a lot of time there between the ages of seven and seventeen, when I practiced “vaulting” – acrobatics on horseback – as a competitive sport. As a tiny, but all the more ambitious girl, I tirelessly analyzed and practiced handstands, bridges, somersaults… Along the way, I learned a lot about training methodology and mindset. At the age of eighteen, I discovered my greatest passion to date: rock climbing. Another type of vertical acrobatics – high above the ground.
I draw on and benefit greatly from these sporting experiences in the course of therapy. The ability to control, visualize and analyse movement helps me to understand where my clients’ movement patterns still seem fluid or inconsistent.
I am happy that I can accompany people every day on their way to pain-free, self-confident and conscious movement!
