Grip strength is considered a biomarker for healthy ageing:
🦴There is a connection with overall strength, bone density and quality of life, among other things.
✊🏼Die Grip force can be measured with a dynamometer. A dynamometer is an inexpensive and easy-to-use screening tool.
👉🏼CONCLUSIO: This does NOT mean that you should train grip strength in order to be as healthy as possible or to age healthily.
After all, a high grip strength is not the cause of health – but healthier people usually have a higher grip strength. Grip strength testing can be incorporated into physiotherapy practice and used as a repeat finding. You may also be able to save yourself some other tests.
