While the early phase of rehabilitation after shoulder surgery focuses on restoring range of motion and relieving pain, the middle phase is primarily concerned with building strength and restoring or rebuilding impaired structures.

Here you can see several examples of exercises that can be used in such a phase:

1️⃣ Landmine Press

→ good way to get used to overhead movements.

2️⃣ Side Raises in lateral position

→ If standing lateral raises are not yet possible, the lateral variant is a good alternative for changing the applied load.

3️⃣ Rowing with retraction

→ good way to work on motor control of scapula movements.

4️⃣ Supine Serratus Push

→ also good exercise for the differentiation of shoulder and shoulder blade movements.

5️⃣ single arm Pallof Press variants

→ on the one hand for the front and on the other hand for the rear shoulder chain

Of course, it is of central importance to adapt the rehab and accordingly the exercise selection to the goals and the upcoming stress situations of the respective patients*. Each rehab is unique, therefore these exercises are only to be understood as an example.
